Yesterday, Kendrick Lamar fired back at Drake with a six-minute diss track called “Euphoria,” continuing a beef that has been playing out for a while now.

Kneecap have been building up the hype for their debut album, Fine Art, which arrives in June. The Northern Irish rap trio has shared the Grian Chatten collaboration “Better Way To Live” and brought it to Irelandas Late Late Show. They also released the title track, and now they’re back with “Love Making.”

Gracie Abrams’ associations are well-established at this point: daughter of J.J. Abrams, client of Aaron Dessner, key inspiration for Olivia Rodrigo, opening act for Taylor Swift. But did you know your favorite pop star’s favorite nepo baby can act? Abrams recently announced her second album, The Secret Of Us, and today she shared the video for its lead single “Risk.” It’s one of the more memorable videos of recent vintage, and the song sounds like a hit.

In their first incarnation, the Richmond post-hardcore explorers City Of Caterpillar were only around for a few years, from 2000 to 2003, and they only released one album. Still, City Of Caterpillar, along with fellow Virginia bands like Pageninetynine and Majority Rule, helped define the sound known as screamo. City Of Caterpillar reunited in 2016, and they released their second album Mystic Sisters in 2022. That means that the City Of Caterpillar reunion has now lasted a lot longer than the band’s first run.

Jeff Rosenstock and his band are headed to Brooklyn this summer. They’ll be playing at the Greenpoint venue Warsaw on August 21, and they might be playing there forever — if you let them. Rosenstock has announced that he’ll play “potentially infinite shows” at the venue. “If a show sells out we do another one,” Rosenstock wrote on social media. “Different sets every night.”

Amy Allen is a pop songwriter with an impressive amount of hits to her name, including credits on Halsey’s chart-topper “Without Me” and Harry Styles’ #6-peaking “Adore You.” (She’s also a songwriter on Sabrina Carpenter’s currently meme’d single “Espresso.”) On her own, though, Allen makes music that wouldn’t sound out of place on a stuffed Bandcamp page. Today, she’s back with a new song called “girl with a problem,” a woozy but sharp guitar track with a swirling hook catchy enough to betray Allen’s pop background.

I’ve long thought that Jessica Pratt’s music is the closest we’ll get to hearing what sound was like when we were inside our mothers’ stomachs. Cooing, bubbling, gleaming: Hers is the music of the intrauterine. Pratt plays as though she’s house-training sound itself, singing somewhere in the phonic region where meaning delays itself. Untethered highs and skidding lows, it must have been what the world sounded like in utero.

The Austin band Font have been together for a couple years now, and they have two songs to their name so far, “Sentence I” and “It.” In a few weeks, they’re headed out on a West Coast tour supporting Yard Act, and today they’re announcing their debut album Strange Burden, which will be out in July. New single “Hey KekuleI” is nervy and elaborately constructed, and it comes with a music video directed by the band and Blake Nelson.

Last summer, former Tarentel guitarist Danny Paul Grody released Arc Of Day, a tour de force LP that seasoned Fahey-esque instrumental folk music with notes of new age and ambient here, post-rock and slowcore there. Today he’s announced that this summer he’ll run it back with a companion album called Arc Of Night.

In 2022, Isabella Lovestory unveiled her debut album Amor Hardcore. Today, the Honduran pop and reggaeton singer is sharing the new song “Botoxxx,” and teasing a new LP coming this fall.

If you went to Stereogum’s Austin shows during SXSW, then you might’ve seen AngA(c)lica Garcia, the experimental pop artist from Los Angeles. Next month, Garcia will release Gemelo, the first album where she mostly sings in Spanish. Garcia recorded the LP in Virginia, with Chicano Batman multi-instrumentalist Carlos ArA(c)valo producing. We’ve already posted first single “Color De Dolor,” and now Garcia has followed that track with an absolute banger.

Next month, Lionlimb will release their new album Limbo. So far, we’ve heard “Hurricane” and “Dream Of You” featuring Angel Olsen, and today the project of Stewart Bronaugh is sharing “Underwater.”

Ghost are heading to theaters. Today, the Swedish pop-metal act has announced their debut feature film, Rite Here Rite Now, which will arrive in cinemas on June 20 and 22. The film builds on their series of Chapters shorts, which they’ve been putting out for a few years now as a way to deepen the mythology behind the lore-rich band. Rite Here Rite Now was co-directed by Alex Ross Perry and Ghost bandleader Tobias Forge. It’ll include concert footage from their two 2023 shows at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum intercut with more narrative material.

Chris Cohen has announced a new album, Paint A Room, the Los Angeles musician’s follow-up to his 2019 eponymous album. Today, he’s sharing its lead single “Damage,” which features a horn arrangement from the great Jeff Parker. “Trying to make something beautiful as a way to think through a problem, I wrote this song to consider the many forms state violence takes and the subtly pervasive habit of denying someone elseas personhood,” Cohen shared in a statement, continuing:

Charly Bliss have announced a new album, FOREVER, their follow-up to 2019’s Young Enough, one of the best albums from that year. It does not include last year’s singles “You Don’t Even Know Me Anymore” or “I Need A New Boyfriend.” FOREVER was co-produced by Hippo Campus’ Jake Juppen, Caleb Wright (who has worked with Samia), and the band’s own Sam Hendricks.

Ra Ra Riot’s latest album was 2019’s Superbloom, though they shared a live LP and a 10th anniversary edition of The Orchard the following year. Other than that, the indie-pop veterans have been quiet, but they’re coming back today with “The Wish,” produced by Rostam Batmanglij.

In just two days, the soulful Toronto singer-songwriter Charlotte Day Wilson will release her new album Cyan Blue. In the lead-up to the LP’s release, Wilson has shared a bunch of advance singles, including “I Don’t Love You,” “Canopy,” and the Snoh Aalegra collab “Forever.” Now, with the release looming, Wilson has dropped two new tracks. Everyone’s doing that lately! If that’s her way to alert the world that the album is almost out, consider yourself alerted.

Twenty years after the release of the all-time classic Madvillainy, sonic mastermind Madlib remains busy. Jahari Massamba Unit, the duo of Madlib and Karriem Riggins, released their instrumental album YHWH Is Love two months ago. Later this month, Madlib and Freddie Gibbs are playing some special shows to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their PiA+-ata album. Lately, Madlib has also been doing a whole lot of work with Brooklyn underground rap heavyweight Your Old Droog.

We are just nine days from the release of I Am Toward You, the first How To Dress Well release since 2018. Tom Krell has shared a bunch of songs from the album so far, and today he’s got one more for us. “Contingency/Necessity (Modality Of Fate)” continues to show off the new project’s impeccable, inscrutable aesthetic.

Last month Orgy singer Jay Gordon claimed that Linkin Park will be regrouping with a female singer in place of the late Chester Bennington. He soon backtracked after his comments went viral. Today, however, Billboard reports that such a reunion may indeed be happening.

Amy Aileen Wood has been Fiona Apple’s touring drummer since 2012. The LA musician drummed on, engineered, and co-produced Apple’s 2020 opus Fetch The Bolt Cutters, and this Friday she’s releasing her debut solo album entitled The Heartening. Three tracks are out now, two of which feature vocals from Apple.

The 2024 Tribeca Film Festival has announced some additions to its lineup for this year.

Pharrell has a few different film projects in the hopper, and one of them is a semi-autobiographical musical that’s set to be directed by Michel Gondry. As previously reported, the as-yet-untitled movie is set in Virginia Beach’s Atlantis Apartments in summer 1977, and it’s set to star Halle Bailey, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Brian Tyree Henry, and recent Oscar winner DaaVine Joy Randolph. Now, motherfucking Missy Elliott has joined the cast, too.

As we recently explored at length, the current state of mainstream heavy metal is bleak, partially because so many of the biggest bands are more like pop acts with the occasional metalcore breakdown. Not many of the leading metal bands are really rocking the classic heavy metal look, either, which apparently drives Deicide’s Glen Benton nuts.

Last year, Suzie True released their sophomore album Sentimental Scum. Last month, the LA rockers shared “Angel Baby,” and today they’re back with “LEECHES (PLAY DEAD!),” produced by Jon Siebels of Eve 6.

Philly shoegazers So Totally will soon release Double Your Relaxation, their second album and first for the revived Tiny Engines. They’ve already shared singles “Distinct Star” and “Doz Roses,” and today they add “Strange Way” to the mix. Set to a surreal mix of animation and video footage from director Dewey Pileggi, the song steers So Totally’s sound toward ballad territory, stretching out to almost six minutes in the process. The sharp and idiosyncratic LA rapper Rhys Langston was a Stereogum Artist To Watch a couple of years ago, and he’s made a lot of music since then. Less than a year ago, Langston and producer Pioneer 11 released the album-length collaboration To Operate This System. A couple of months ago, Langston followed it up with his EP notes from the unemployment office. Today, Langston has come out with a new collaborative project, this time with the veteran New York underground rap producer Steep Tipped Dove.
